Problem
Bewakoof.com aimed to enhance user engagement and increase the time users spent on the platform. There was a need for more interactive features beyond traditional e-commerce, such as a dedicated gaming zone. Integrating such a new, performance-sensitive feature into an existing e-commerce platform presented technical challenges. Additionally, there was an opportunity to incentivize gameplay and encourage repeat visits through a reward mechanism linked to the platform's core business.
Gathered Insights
Collaborated closely with Product Managers to understand key business objectives and user behavior patterns, identifying the potential for a gaming zone to drive engagement and session time. Recognized the importance of seamless technical integration to maintain platform performance. Saw an opportunity to build a reward system that would motivate users and potentially drive revenue through reward redemption.
Solution
Developed and launched the Bfun Gaming Zone, integrating various games to provide an interactive experience for users. Alongside the gaming zone, built a reward system where users could earn coupons and rewards by playing games. These rewards were designed to be redeemable on the Bewakoof platform. Additionally, a floating icon was implemented on the homescreen to improve the accessibility and visibility of the gaming zone, making it easier for users to discover and engage with the games and the reward system.
Implementation Process
Responsible for the end-to-end development of the Bfun Game Zone and the integrated reward system, from initial ideation to final execution and deployment. Worked alongside Product Managers to refine requirements and solutions throughout the development cycle. Focused heavily on writing optimized code and handling the technical complexities of integrating a new, performance-sensitive gaming feature into the existing e-commerce platform infrastructure. Conducted thorough performance checks on deployed features to monitor and maintain optimal user experience and system integrity.
